Design Setting

ENSO is a home designed to belong — not just to its owners, but to the land it rests on. Set on a generous site near Samford, the home unfolds as a low, sprawling composition of carefully composed forms. From the moment you arrive, it holds a strong and intentional presence — a collection of bold shapes with minimal street-facing openings, offering privacy and quiet confidence.

The design leans into contrast — heavy stone feature walls are grounded and permanent, while lighter materials float beside them, creating a rhythm that responds to the natural landscape. The home doesn’t sit on the site; it sits within it, following the contours, embracing the views, and softening the threshold between built and natural environments.

ENSO is more than a house. It’s a response — to place, to privacy, and to the quiet power of good design grounded in its surroundings.

Lived Experience

ENSO unfolds as a series of distinct zones, each with its own role, yet all connected by a sense of calm and flow. Entry begins at the western edge with a garage and home office — a private threshold that sets the tone for the rest of the journey. From here, the home draws you inward toward the central living space, where daily life gathers around light, openness, and connection.

This heart of the home is anchored by generous glazing that opens to the east, capturing soft morning light and framing views over the pond. Breezes move easily through large openings, naturally ventilating the space and reinforcing the bond between inside and out.

A robust stone wall divides the central living area from the secluded master suite, offering privacy without disconnect. At the opposite end of the home, a dedicated wing houses the children’s bedrooms and a secondary living zone — a quiet, functional space for play, rest, and retreat.

Outdoors, a large alfresco area and pool extend the living experience even further, creating layered spaces for gathering, relaxing, and engaging with the landscape. ENSO invites movement, pause, and presence — a home shaped as much by the spaces in between as by the rooms themselves.
