Verve

A hillside home at Yandina Creek under one sweeping roof, lifted into the treetops with views running out to the coast.

Verve sits high on a hillside at Yandina Creek, looking east across bushland to the ocean. From the street it is deliberately quiet: a single low, angled frame wrapped around a screen of fine vertical battens that gives little away. The drama is saved for the other side, where a raked roof lifts high over full height glazing and the home opens up to the view. The main living level is one long, open space. Kitchen, dining and living slide open onto a deep covered deck, with a round oculus cut through the roof to let the sun in. The dining room sits among the bamboo on one side and the view on the other, and a glazed wine room sits between the kitchen and the lounge.Below, a second living area with a bar opens to the pool terrace, an outdoor kitchen and a pool with a sun shelf above the gardens. Warmth comes from oak floors and joinery, a soft pink stone through the kitchen and bathrooms, fluted detailing and brass tapware. The main bedroom looks through floor to ceiling glass to the hills, with a freestanding bath set beside the view.
